• Measured by diameter, usually 30" to 72" blade tip to blade tip
• 10' x 10' room - 30" to 36"
• 15' x 15' room - 42" to 44"
• 20' x 20' room - 52" to 54"
• Large room plus a high ceiling - 56" to 72"

Pitch (twist) - Angle of Blades

• Normal 6 to 16 degrees
• Higher pitch = more air moved

Blades

• Typical number 2 to 6
• 2 Blades - More vintage
• 3 Blades - More contemporary
• 5 Blades - Most popular

FYI

• Fans cool people not air
• 2 blades move more air than 5
• Reverse the fan direction to reduce winter energy cost
